Many of the jewelry and watches of the collections we choose, are decorated with natural mineral stones, imported from all over the world, high purity crystals and techniques of excellent quality such as enamel, oxidation mats, IP metalizations etc.

The majority of the collections we choose are manufactured by modern methods in the laboratories of the companies we work with, or are imported from abroad. Also, an essential part of these collections consists of jewels that are entirely or parts of them, made by hand.

Examples of Stones

Semiprecious Stones

These gemstones are the naturally formed crystallization of a mineral which are desirable for their natural beauty, valued according to its rarity and durability. The semiprecious gemstones are among nature's most miraculous creations: perfect crystals, unique. Some varieties of semiprecious gemstones have been discovered since prehistoric times, while others have recently been discovered. There are over 30 popular collectable varieties. Some varieties also have a wide range of colors.

The Rainbow of Precious Stones

These stones are the most intensely natural colored materials on earth. They have become synonymous with colors, even lending their names to the colors themselves. We all know ruby red, aquamarine, turquoise and jade green, but the world of gems now has an even greater variety of colors that reflect all the colors of the Rainbow. The huge variety of stones that adorn the creations chosen by kramajewels.shop, would cover every style and personality.

Mineral Stones

So as to categorize a mineral stone, this stone should be either:

  • Solid
  • Crystalline
  • Inorganic
  • Homogeneous
  • Naturally Created

Agate

It is a variety of copper (quartz). It is created from consecutive layers of copper, each of which has a different color. It is a very widespread mineral, and we find it in almost all colors. It's usually in opaque form. Agate is also the Onyx.

Amethyst

Amethyst is a violet (or purple) variant of mineral quartz and is used for decorative purposes as a gemstone. Amethyst is found in all color tones from light, slightly pink, violet, to dark purple like the color of black grapes. There may also be secondary red and/or blue shades. Amethyst was used as a gemstone by the ancient Egyptians and other ancient civilizations. In earlier times it was used more than today for the manufacturing of art objects.

Aquamarine

It is a transparent blue or blue-green stone named after its color. The meaning of Aqua Marina in Italian is the water of the beach. In Chemistry, Aquamarine belongs to the beryllium family. Today is one of the most eligible jewelry materials. Its most popular form is blue aquamarine, which is why in laboratories they convert the green/blue to blue, with heat treatment proceedures. The color tone obtained after heat treatment is very stable (not discolored). The usual treatment of aquamarine is cutting. They rarely treat it with the kabuson method.

Citrine

Citrine is a form of quartz, i.e. Pyrene Dioxide. It has almost the same composition as amethyst, thus it contains more iron impurities. It is translucent or transparent with a beautiful yellow color that sometimes ranges in tone from reddish to light yellow. The word 'citrine' comes from the French 'citron' which means 'lemon', apparently because of its yellow color. International trade name: citrine. Its color is irreparably altered if exposed to sunlight or high temperature for too long.

Coral

Coral can be white, pink, blue, red, or black. Red contains iron oxide and corresponds to the center of the tone base. Coral may be affected by heat, sweat and cosmetics. Coral is a fibrous amorphous matter and its natural form is like a tree branch. By making an incision in the coral we will see that its anatomy is just like trees. In essence, they are skeletons of invertebrate animals with a soft body and consist mainly of calcium carbonate. Coral as said, is organic material, which makes it more sensitive than other materials, that’s why we need to know how to take care of it so we won't destroy it. Avoid contact with acids and exposure to high temperatures.

Hematite

Hematite is an iron mineral. It is called hematite from the Greek word "aima" (blood),  because of the color of its lines, which are characteristically red, to the point where the mineral is identified by it alone. Its name has Greek origin, and is due to its color. But not in the color of the mineral, which is dark gray, but in the color of the dust line (the dust remaining after it is grated), which is red, that is, it has the color of blood. Hematite is an opaque mineral, has a metallic glow, and gray – silver to black color. Its hardness is 6.5 and its special weight is 5.05. It has been used in jewellery since 3000 BC. Today we use it to make curved stones, and impressive shiny beads. A hematite variant is called Tiger Iron, and it's a layer of hematite and iaspe, or “the eye of the tiger”.

Jade

Jade is a hard green mineral consisting of sodium silicate aluminum monoclinic in crystal form. The relaxing green color of jade makes it a wonderful therapeutic semi-precious stone. The timeless color shades of jade range from the deep olive oil color to a bright green. We also find it in white or black and very rarely in bright green like emerald. Jade is a stone that is considered to bring money and help us make good business decisions. It is also said to help to resolve by peaceful means some problems or conflicts in our environment. Jade is considered a protector and guardian by misery and accidents.

Labradorite

It is a translucent mineral that belongs to the large mineralogical family of feldspars. When its surface is polished, it shows an impressive iridescence. A light game with alternating reflections of many colors. This visual phenomenon is created by the reflection of light in the consecutive surface layers of the mineral, and is called labradorscence. The valuable qualities of Labradorite, used in jewelry, are the following:

  • Spectrolite, which is the best quality labradorite, and is available in small quantities in Finland.
  • The sunstone that has shades of orange - brown.
  • The moonstone.

Malachite

Malachite is a mineral of copper. Chemically it is characterized as basic carbon copper. It has a bright green color, in which it owes its name. It was named after the plant malachi (mallow), as it has a similar color to its leaves. Malachite has been known since ancient times. The overlapping band changing of its color, makes it suitable as a decoration material. These alternations are very characteristic and easily distinguished by other minerals of similar color.

Obsidian

Obsidian is a rock that comes from volcanic areas of younger geological age. It is an acid rock, dark in color with a glassy texture (considered as natural glass). The obsidian shows a glossy black color and usually has conical fracture.
